Community Outreach

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV

On Sunday evening the 25th September 2022, the Sheffield women’s ministries (EMERGE) handed over a cheque for £1000 to Rev. Lee Proudlove from Opendoors UK for their work supporting the church in the Middle East. We pray that God will bless this money and all who benefit from it. To God be ALL the glory..

Our Soup Kitchen Workers

Due to the ‘lockdown’ the Soup Kitchen, held at NTCG Family Life Centre has been closed. However, COVID-19 could not suppress the drive, the passion and the commitment to the humanitarian endeavours of it’s workers.

Leaders, Sis Benjamin, Elder Edwards and Sis Edwards continue to give of themselves. They have demonstrated resilience through using their initiative to make use of the regular donations from Aldi and Marks & Spencers to help those in need.

At their own expense, these leaders have collected the food from the suppliers each week in their own cars and distributed it to the elderly and the vulnerable.

Beyond the actual day of delivering the food, there is a lot of unseen planning, organising and coordinating. Not only are these volunteers meeting the dietary needs of the recipients but also add to their emotional and mental well-being, especially to those individuals living alone.

Bro Delroy Robinson has been active in supporting other community projects to the help those most in need during this COVID-19 pandemic.
His enthusiasm has been contagious as it has galvanised other NTCG members into taking action with him for this project.

By God’s grace these volunteers will continue in their capacity and desire to bless others in their acts of kindness. We know lots more individuals will be doing similar charitable work please get in touch to share your stories or if want to get involved.

A big “thank you” to Burngreave Building Co. for their unexpected donation at Christmas time to our Soup Kitchen for the Homeless which is held every Tuesday 10am – 1.30 pm at our Family Life Centre, 40 Nursery St, Sheffield S3 8GG.

Much appreciated in these unprecedented times.
